DWLLRS started as an organic friendship between Bren Eissman and Joey Spurgeon. Through the years, it has grown and turned into their soul’s pursuit of God and the intangible through music, songwriting, and world-building. DWLLRS came from the term “to dwell,” which Bren’s dad coined sarcastically because of their tendency to overthink everything. What once served as a detriment soon became the fuel for their journey of unlocking doors in their hearts that they didn’t even know were there. They aimed to delve into the duality of the human experience, orienting their hearts towards hope in a dark world, while not being afraid to stare into the void that suffering sometimes leaves. Through it all, they discovered that their band’s true meaning is not just to overthink. They discovered that overthinking stemmed from a deep conviction placed in their hearts. And as they grow in life experience and as artists, they hope DWLLRS will continue to be built on faith, friendship, and the pursuit of light in a dark world.
