Overview Big Lake West Campground offers sites located on the shores of Big Lake, situated at the top of the Santiam Pass. Opportunities to enjoy the outdoors are numerous and range from off-highway vehicle exploring to swimming and hiking.Recreation The surrounding mountains visible from the campground include Mt. Washington, Three Fingered Jack, the Three Sisters and Mt. Bachelor. The high elevation forest surrounding the campground includes hemlock, fir, and lodgepole pine providing shade on a hot summer’s day as you enjoy the beauty of Big Lake. Wildlife viewing may include black bears, deer, cougar, chipmunks and elk.Facilities This tent only campground has vault toilets, drinking water, a boat ramp and swimming area. From McKenzie Bridge, travel east on Hwy 126 for 31 miles to Big Lake Road #2690. Follow Big Lake Road for 4 miles to Big Lake West Campground.
