Kalmiopsis Audubon Society Signal Butte Wildflower Hike

Join Kalmiopsis Wilderness on Sunday, May 24 for a wonderful KAS tradition — the spring wildflower hike to the Signal Buttes Area in the hills behind Gold Beach, proposed as the Veva Stansell Botanical Area.
This hike is moderate to difficult and will include a trip to the Signal Buttes summit, with fabulous 360-degree views. Along the way, you’ll learn about the unique serpentine botany of the region and, of course, enjoy spring wild flowers! Total length of hike is 4.25 miles with 840 feet elevation gain. Wear sturdy hiking shoes, sun protection, and bring lunch, snacks, and plenty of water. Be prepared for the weather.
It takes about 45 minutes to get to the trailhead from Gold Beach. Meet up at the Gold Beach Visitor Center (south end of town) at 9 am sharp to caravan and carpool. An RSVP is needed by the Wednesday preceding this trip for any additional pre-trip information and in case weather causes us to shift the date.
Please RSVP to Charlie by email. Sponsored by Kalmiopsis Audubon.
