Pudding River Wine Cellars is located in the heart of Oregon’s eastern Willamette Valley, at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, about an hour’s drive south of downtown Portland. Once a poultry farm, the property sits along the banks of the Pudding River, a 62-mile tributary of the Willamette Valley fed by the Cascade Range.
Dedicated to producing world-class wines in the classic Oregon style, Pudding River Wine Cellars uses sustainable vineyard and winemaking practices. The vineyard was planted in 2004, with the first commercial vintage released in 2006. The wines have been recognized by Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast and have earned numerous accolades in regional wine and food competitions.
The tasting room is conveniently located between Salem and Silverton, the winery is near popular destinations including Silver Falls State Park, the Oregon Garden, and the Oregon State Capitol.
Founder, owner, and winemaker Sean Allen spent 15 years as a mechanical engineer before pursuing a career in winemaking. Drawing on degrees in physics and engineering, Sean completed formal training through the acclaimed Chemeketa Wine Studies program, where a science-based approach provided a strong foundation in viticulture and enology. In addition to crafting the Pudding River Wine Cellars portfolio, Sean provides award-winning custom winemaking services for several vineyards, wineries, and private wine labels throughout the Willamette Valley and the Oregon Coast.
