South Bay Wild Fish House in Astoria is a family owned restaurant founded by commercial fishermen Rob and Tiffani Seitz. After decades working on the water, the Seitz family created South Bay Wild to connect diners directly with sustainably harvested seafood while supporting healthy fishing communities. Their philosophy is rooted in a triple bottom line approach that values people, place, and the local economy.
The menu celebrates Oregon’s seasonal seafood with favorites like fish tacos, fish and chips, tuna poke, ceviche, Dungeness crab cocktail, Oregon pink shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, and fresh oysters. Depending on the season, guests can also enjoy Petrale sole, black cod, rockfish, calamari, prawn dishes, crab cakes, and seafood bánh mì sandwiches, all prepared with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
South Bay Wild Fish House also celebrates Astoria’s rich maritime heritage. Rob Seitz, a commercial fisherman, entrepreneur, and published poet, is a longtime participant in the annual FisherPoets Gathering, sharing stories from life on the water through both his cooking and his writing. Dining here offers visitors not only exceptional Oregon seafood, but also a chance to connect with the fishing families and traditions that have shaped Astoria for generations.
